Handmade in Hillsboro, OR from solid alder, this affordable and deceptively simple-looking urn was constructed with a high level of craftsmanship. The techniques used to make this urn were handed down from craftsman to craftsman. The top or front is perfect for mounting a name plate or your pet’s photo. Opens at bottom for cremated remains storage. Bottom panel is secured by two screws. Rubber footing. Carved from natural oak, the Tribute Heart™ keepsake is the perfect size to hold in the palm of your hand. It slides open and has a magnetic “click” closure. Hidden within the Heart are twin recesses. One holds a miniature glass phial, the other – or both – can store a lock of hair, piece of jewellery or other small keepsake items. Contents are protected beneath clear perspex screens with rubber seals and can be concealed by placing a photo or personalized plaque above. This completely biodegradable urn is offered as an alternative to the standard wood urn that would otherwise be included with your pet's after-care package. It comes in a variety of sizes and shapes. ***Please request when ordering cremation services.*** Your pet's cremated remains are placed directly into a muslin bag (no plastic bag) which is then placed inside a paper mache box. Your pet's ID tag is taped inside the box for reference, but it an easily be removed. (The tag is made of steel and is not biodegradable.) Please note: This bio urn is intended for ground burial where it can gradually break down over a long period of time. This bio urn is also a good vehicle for easily opening and scattering cremated remains. Please see our other options for bio urns that are designed for water burial. -
