This completely biodegradable urn is offered as an alternative to the standard wood urn that would otherwise be included with your pet's after-care package. It comes in a variety of sizes and shapes. ***Please request when ordering cremation services.*** Your pet's cremated remains are placed directly into a muslin bag (no plastic bag) which is then placed inside a paper mache box. Your pet's ID tag is taped inside the box for reference, but it an easily be removed. (The tag is made of steel and is not biodegradable.) Please note: This bio urn is intended for ground burial where it can gradually break down over a long period of time. This lovely turquoise blue urn was made using the ancient art of coil building -- the 8,000 year-old technique of pottery making where ropes or coils of clay are added one at a time then smoothed. The Raku technique involves firing the clay pot to around 1850 degrees, then taking it out of the kiln with tongs and putting in a a large can with shredded junk mail, which is then closed for 5 or 10 minutes to crackle and have the crack filled with smoke. Then it is taken out and briefly dunked in water. Once cooled, it is carefully finished with several layers of glaze. Made in the U.S.A. by an artist in California. Appropriate for the cremated remains of a small pet (up to 20 lbs) or as a keepsake urn for a larger pet. Dimensions: 5" tall by 5" wide. -

Hand-made in Elma, WA by award-winning artist Sondra Alexander, your pet's custom ceramic 3-D portrait tile will reflect your pet's special qualities in a work of art that you will love and cherish. You may purchase a tile by itself, or as the top to your pet's urn. Tile dimesions: 6" X 6" Urn base dimensions: 2.5" high in front and 5.5" high in back. The box style is sloped so that your pet's portrait is displayed on an easy-to-see angle. Sondra will decorate the front, back and sides of your urn to your specifications. Options include custom text on front and back, and your choice of 3-D bone decorations or your pet's paw print on the sides. To use your pet's paw print for the urn sides, there are two options:- We can send instructions for mailing your pet's clay paw print to Sondra. She will make a mold, and then return the original clay paw print back to you with your pet's urn.
